So... What have we been up to?

We have had a very busy few months, lots of people coming in for clay modelling, lots came in to paint some pottery, its been a real pleasure to open my kiln and see the big blast of colour from all the gorgeous things you made..

We have had too many birthday parties to count.  Several Rainbow and Brownie groups who came and painted cats, dogs, bears, trinket boxes and a host of bright butterflies!

We have hosted several families from Logan’s Fund.  Its been a priveege and a pleasure to meet so many lovely people.  To find out more about Logan’s Fund visit their website at

We also went out to Duffus to spend some time with The Friends of Chernobyl’s Children.   All the children painted a plate to take home to Belarus and we surprised them with a hand painted mug each filled with sweeties.  It was something that we thoroughly enjoyed.  We are looking forward to meeting up with them again next year.  For more information go to their website

The Buckie Pottery Company is proud to introduce our guest artist Laura Warren from Wild Hare Glass.  Laura has created a range of beautiful pieces painted here at The Pottery.

Children’s Activities over the Summer Break.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays over the holidays, we will be having informal clay workshops for children, i have put some dates up on the website and more will be added as we go along.  Although we have organised these sessions, it is possible to come one to one or in small groups outside of these times, contact us via email, phone or website to arrange.

We will be making a variety of projects and using different hand building methods.  I am also happy for people to ‘freestyle’ if the wish.

Cost per person is £15, this includes all materials and firing plus a drink and an apron.                                                        Sessions will be 1.5 hours long and will run from 11am to 12.30pm.  Children over 8 can be left with us during the session, younger children must be accompanied.  It is important to arrive promptly at the start of the session and to be on time to collect..  We will not allow children to leave without an adult to collect them.

We are also planning something for much younger children.    Paint and read will be a package of a figure to paint and a book to read.  Little ones can paint a character and the story will be read to them whilst they paint.  Look out for dates over the summer.   The cost for the book and the character will be confirmed at a later date.
